Reiki Healing Method

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that aims to promote relaxation and wellbeing with increasing evidence supporting its health benefits.

The word Reiki pronounced ‘Ray key’ means ‘universal energy’ and the practice is of the belief that a reiki healer channels this energy from the universe, through their body and onto the receiver for inner balance and healing.

It's a non-invasive, complementary therapy that can be used in addition to conventional medical treatments. There is also no need to believe in any religion or in reiki for it to work.

Some of the benefits are and not limited to stress reduction, pain management, fatigue reduction, emotional wellbeing, balance and harmony and preventative medicine that can help you in the ways in which you respond to stress.

Most people are familiar with ‘hands on’ in which the client is present and the Reiki Healer moves their hands across the client’s body in specific positions, using reiki symbols.

Many people prefer a reiki healing over a message because the client feels safe being fully clothed and relaxing under a blanket.

An ‘absent healing’ however, does not require the client to be present. A ‘proxy pillow’ is used as the client and using reiki symbols the client is called in with permission using their name and are placed on the proxy. Moving through each body position the same way as for an in-person healing. The difference is the reiki healer channels the client’s thoughts in each position. Seeing, sensing, hearing and feeling whatever the client wishes to share. This type of healing helps with direction together with looking for self-clarity in this moment in time. All that is required is the clients first and last name and a picture of themselves, again the clients are not present. Communication takes place via email or other means.

Besides doing clients in the present, it is possible to do people who have passed away, it brings about an immense amount of peace and comfort which helps in the healing process.  It is also not limited to human beings, but to animals and particularly pets.
