Enjoy a wide variety of nutrious foods from these five food groups every day.
Remember to drink plenty of water.

  1. Grain (cereal) foods, mostly wholegrain and/or high cereal fibre variety.
  2. Vegetables legumes and beans.
  3. Lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds.
  4. Fruit.
  5. Milk, yoghurt, cheese, and/or alternatives, mostly reduced fat.


Use small amounts of:

Oils, butter and margarine


Only sometimes and in small amounts:

Alchohol, soft drinks, lollies, processed foods, savoury snacks, hamburgers, cream, cakes, chocolate, biscuits, hot chips, potato crisps and ice-cream.
